Inside the U.S. Capitol at the height of the siege

At 2:12 p.m. on Jan. 6, supporters of President Trump began climbing through a window they had smashed on the northwest side of the U.S. Capitol. “Go! Go! Go!” someone shouted as the rioters, some in military gear, streamed in. It was the start of the most serious attack on the Capitol since the War of 1812. The mob coursed through the building, enraged that Congress was preparing to make Trump’s electoral defeat official. “Drag them out! … Hang them out!” rioters yelled at one point, as they gathered near the House chamber.

Officials in the House and Senate secured the doors of their respective chambers, but lawmakers were soon forced to retreat to undisclosed locations. Five people died on the grounds that day, including a Capitol police officer. In all, more than 50 officers were injured.

To reconstruct the pandemonium inside the Capitol, The Washington Post examined text messages, photos and hundreds of videos, some of which were exclusively obtained. By synchronizing the footage and locating some of the camera angles within a digital 3-D model of the building, The Post was able to map the rioters’ movements and assess how close they came to lawmakers — in some cases feet apart or separated only by a handful of vastly outnumbered police officers

Republican Attorney General Group Made Robocalls Encouraging Capitol Protests

A shocking new report this week revealed that an arm of the Republican Attorneys General Association actually sent out robocalls encouraging Republicans to show up and march on the Capitol on January 6th. The rot in the GOP goes all the way to the top, and there is no way to separate the insurrection from the rest of the Party.

As DC Metropolitan Police Officer Michael Fanone lay on the ground at the US Capitol building, stunned and injured, he knew a group of rioters were stripping him of his gear. They grabbed spare ammunition, ripped the police radio off his chest and even stole his badge. Then, Fanone, who had just been Tasered several times in the back of the neck, heard something chilling that made him go into survival mode.

“Some guys started getting a hold of my gun and they were screaming out, ‘Kill him with his own gun,” said Fanone, who’s been a police officer for almost two decades.
Fanone, one of three officers who spoke with CNN, described his experience fighting a mob of President Donald Trump’s supporters who’d invaded the Capitol in an insurrection unheard of in modern American history.

Video from The Telegraph shows Peter Francis Stager, the man federal prosecutors say beat a DC Metro police officer with the American flag, saying that “death is the only remedy” for the Capitol law enforcement officers.

Trump Inspired Riot at US Capitol During Election Certification. America Prevails.

In a day that may live in infamy, Trump supporters breach the US Capitol building, causing property damage, injury to many and the loss of life in a riot fueled by Donald Trump’s reckless, false rhetoric about the election being a fraud and being stolen from him. During the riots, President-Elect Joe Biden addressed and calmed the nation, and urged Donald Trump to do the same. Shortly thereafter, Trump took to the airwaves and made matters even worse, again railing against a fraudulent election.

What are the possible remedies? Removing Trump via the 25th Amendment for unfitness, immediate impeachment and removal of Trump, AND expelling from Congress under Article 1, Section 5 of the Constitution for the likes of Ted Cruz and Josh Hawley for trying to overthrow the will of the American voters.

Description from YouTube from Keith Olbermann; “We have tried to tell the politicians enabling it, ignoring it, exploiting it, that they were playing with fire. Now they’ve all been burned.

It goes without saying Trump must be removed from office immediately. And all those who entered the Capitol must be arrested and charged with what they attempted to do: violently overthrow the government of the United States”.

Trump Supporters Are FURIOUS That He Didn’t Pardon Them For Storming The Capitol

One of the lawyers representing a Trump supporter who stormed the Capitol says that his client (the man seen in photos wearing horns) feels like he was duped by Trump because he didn’t receive a pardon. Not pardoning these freaks might be the only good thing that Trump did in his remaining days in office, as it allows the country to actually move forward and hold these weirdos accountable.
