Merrick Garland Unfit to be United States Attorney General

During his first three months in office, Merrick Garland has had several opportunities to reverse the corrupt policies of his predecessor William Barr, but has failed to do so. Instead, he has allowed the DOJ to continue the Trump / Barr DOJ.

Most recently, Garland’s Justice Department declined to reverse course on one of the most egregious abuses of the department under Barr: its attempt to take on the legal defense of Trump in a defamation suit filed by magazine columnist E. Jean Carroll.

Merrick Garland has proven unfit to be the United States Attorney General by continuing to defend Trump in the defamation case by E. Jean Carroll and fighting release of the full memo on Trump’s Obstruction of Justice (which Americans has a right to see).

The Mueller Report established that Trump Obstructed Justice on at least 10 occasions. Within one month of taking office, the Merrick Garland DOJ should have filed charges of Obstruction of Justice against Trump and arrested him.

Trump’s Niece Calls Merrick Garland An Idiot For Not Prosecuting Her Uncle

Even before Donald Trump appeared to admit to obstruction of justice during a Fox News interview, his niece, Mary Trump, did an interview where she said that Attorney General Merrick Garland was an “idiot” for not prosecuting her uncle. She’s right. There’s no excuse for investigations to not be immediately launched into so very many of Trump’s activities from when he was in office, but Garland doesn’t seem to care one bit about any of that

The Merrick Garland DOJ should have filed charges against ALL involved in the January 6, 2021  Incitement of Violence which resulted in 5 deaths, Insurrection, Treason for attempted to overthrow our government, disrupt the congressional certification of Joe Biden and an illegal attempt to STEAL the 2020 election.  Failing to hold Trump and his lawless cronies accountable is proving there’s two (2) Justices in the United States… one for the RICH and Politically well connected… another for everyone else.

Legal Expert: DOJ Must Immediately Conduct ‘Full-Blown’ Jan. 6 Probe

‘Cowardice’: Elie Mystal slams AG Garland’s lack of urgency with Bannon case

“It speaks to cowardice. He is happy to indict the foot soldiers—because that is easy. It is comparatively harder to investigate, and prosecute, and charge the people who planned it, the brains behind the operation,” says Elie Mystal on AG Merrick Garland. “He doesn’t seem to have the gumption to do it.”

New reports revealed the Barr DOJ was investigating members of the Press and Congressman (and staff) critical of Trump such as Adam Schiff. From what we’re seen thus far, it appears Garland is too timid to hold Trump or anyone in his administration accountable for crimes they may have committed.

We need an Attorney General who will aggressively stand for the rule of law, clean house at the DOJ and hold law breakers accountable.

The Justice Department under President Biden is moving to defend former President Trump in a defamation lawsuit. Former U.S. Attorney Joyce Vance discusses why she says this is the wrong call.

Trump Corruption of DOJ Lingers Under Garland, Risks Precedent

Rachel Maddow reviews the abuse of the Department of Justice by Bill Barr in sacrificing justice to serve the political needs of Donald Trump, and notes that rather than cleaning the department with accountability for indulging that corruption, Attorney General Merrick Garland is apparently punishing none of it and even continuing some of it, risking a precedent that will surely be embraced by the next corrupt president.

DOJ Appealing Order To Release Memo On Bill Barr Not Prosecuting Trump

Former Federal Prosecutor Glenn Kirschner explains how Failure to Prosecute could be a CRIME in  itself… violation of 18 U.S. Code § 3 “Accessory after the fact”.

“Whoever, knowing that an offense against the United States has been committed, receives, relieves, comforts or assists the offender in order to hinder or prevent his apprehension, trial or punishment, is an accessory after the fact”.

Merrick Garland Would’ve Been a Great Justice. He’s Not a Great A.G.

Moving Merrick Garland off the federal bench to make him Attorney General seemed like a stroke of genius at the time. He’d gained a reputation over more than 20 years as a fair-minded judge, liked and respected by all those who dealt with him.

Time to Say “You’re Fired” to Merrick Garland? – EgbertoWillies.com

Raping women and then slandering them, beating protesters, and trying to overthrow the government are not normal parts of the job of President of the United States. But for reasons that seem entirely bizarre, Merrick Garland’s Department of Justice is operating as if they are.

Opinion: Merrick Garland’s E. Jean Carroll misstep

Elie Honig writes to anyone hoping that former Attorney General William Barr’s replacement, Merrick Garland, will methodically undo the deep structural harm done by his predecessor: don’t hold your breath. Thus far, Garland has been too timid in his approach, and he seemingly has no plans to become the anti-Barr.
