Pharma Bro Martin Shkreli Sent To Jail For Putting Bounty On Hillary Clinton’s Hair

Martin Shkreli, better known online as the Pharma Bro, has had his bail revoked after a hearing determined that he might pose a threat to the public. The hearing was held because Shkreli offered $5,000 for a lock of Hillary Clinton’s hair, though it has not been made completely clear why he wants her hair. Shkreli is now awaiting sentencing for three counts of fraud and could face a total of 20 years in prison.

Tim Pierotti, who once ran a consumer hedge fund for Shkreli, testified Tuesday that the man who gained notoriety by raising the price of a life-saving drug more than 5,000% sent a threatening letter to his home, addressed to his wife, reading, “I hope to see you and your four children homeless. I will do whatever I can to assure this.”

The letter was entered into evidence at Shkreli’s trial in Federal District Court in Brooklyn.

Pharma Bro can be seen in this video smirking and mocking Elijah Cummings. Now after being Convicted of Cheating Investors he’s pleading for mercy from the judge.

Shkreli’s childish smirking behavior made him a perfect villain who people loved to hate.

CEO who hiked drug price 5,000% backs down

Martin Shkreli, 32, the founder and chief executive of Turing Pharmaceuticals, purchased the rights to Daraprim and immediately increased the cost from $13.50 to $750 per pill.

Most people was outraged by this price hike because it seemed that Shkreli behaved in a cold-hearted callous manner by putting profits above care for people who need this medication.

Daraprim, known generically as pyrimethamine, is used mainly to treat toxoplasmosis, a parasite infection that can cause serious or even life-threatening problems for babies born to women who become infected during pregnancy, and also for people with compromised immune systems, like AIDS patients and certain cancer patients.

If you had to pay for this medication out of your own pocket, $13.50 per pill would barely be affordable for many people. $750 per pill is an outrageous sum and completely un-affordable unless you have insurance which would pay for it.

The fact that prescriptions can legally be raised to un-affordable prices is the fault of Republicans.  Democrats stands up for average Joe Americans and would make price gouging practices like this illegal.

Another reason why people should not vote for Republicans…
